Jairo Andrés is one of the country's most academically and technically accomplished tax lawyers. He specializes in Tax Law and holds a Master's degree in State Law with an emphasis on Taxation from Universidad Externado de Colombia, a Master's degree in International Law from Universidad de La Sabana, and is a doctoral candidate in Financial and Tax Law at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain.
His doctoral training at one of the most prestigious universities in Europe gives him a perspective that few tax lawyers in Colombia have — the ability to articulate Colombian tax law with the most demanding international standards.
EXPERIENCE
He has advised national and international clients on tax consulting, strategic planning and tax litigation — with direct experience as a lawyer for the Constitutional Court of Colombia, which gives him a privileged understanding of the constitutional control over tax regulations.
He is a professor in the Department of Tax Law at Externado University of Colombia and in the Department of Financial and Tax Law at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. He is the author and co-author of academic publications on tax matters.
